Nevada running back Stefphon Jefferson was named today to Phil Steele’s Midseason All-America Team, as announced by the publication.

Jefferson, a junior from Visalia, Calif., is second in the nation in rushing through six games, averaging 159.2 yards per game. He was named to the magazine’s fourth-team on its Midseason All-American Team.

Earlier this year, Jefferson tied an NCAA record and broke four school and three Mountain West records when he scored seven touchdowns – six rushing – in Nevada’s win at Hawaii.

Jefferson’s 247-yard effort against Northwestern State is the fourth-highest total in the NCAA this year.
