COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cody Fajardo (Nevada), Nat Berhe (San Diego State) and Quentin Breshears (Fresno State) are the Mountain West Players of the Week for games through Sept. 8. Fajardo earns Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Berhe garners the Defensive Player award and Breshears receives Special Teams recognition. This marks the second career MW weekly accolade for Berhe and first for Fajardo and Breshears.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cody Fajardo, NEVADA
Sophomore, Quarterback, Brea, Calif./Servite HS
Cody Fajardo compiled 405 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns in Nevada’s 32-31 loss to USF. The sophomore quarterback completed 27-of-38 pass attempts for 271 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 18 times for 134 yards, including TD runs of one and 14 yards. The Brea, Calif., product hit nine different receivers during the game and did not throw an interception for the second straight contest. Fajardo’s 100-yard rushing performance was the third of his career at Nevada, while his 134 yards on the ground marked the second-highest tally of his career. Fajardo is the first MW quarterback to record a 100-yard rushing performance since Wyoming’s Brett Smith ran for 140 yards against New Mexico on Nov. 19, 2011. Fajardo’s 405 yards of total offense rank as the most in a single game in the MW this season and 11th-best nationally.
Fajardo is the second Nevada player in as many weeks and in the school’s short Mountain West history to win a weekly award as running back Stefphon Jefferson was the Offensive Player of the Week last week for his performance at Cal.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
NAT BERHE, SAN DIEGO STATE
Junior, Defensive Back, Colton, Calif./Colton HS
Junior defensive back Nat Berhe recorded a career-high 14 tackles, including 10 solo stops, as San Diego State posted a 42-7 victory over Army on Saturday. The Colton, Calif., native also had one tackle for loss and a pass breakup while anchoring an Aztec defense that forced three turnovers and limited the Black Knights to just 50 yards passing. Berhe and the SDSU defense held Army without an offensive touchdown for its first nine possessions of the game before a Black Knight score with 5:54 left to play in the third quarter ended the unit’s streak of not allowing an offensive TD at 16 possessions (last seven at Washington in Week 1).  Berhe’s 14 tackles marked the second-highest single-game tally in the MW this season (tied for 16th nationally), while his league-high tying 10 solo stops tied for the third-best performance among all FBS players.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QUENTIN BRESHEARS, FRESNO STATE
RS-Freshman, Kicker, Turlock, Calif./Pitman HS
Redshirt freshman Quentin Breshears made all four of his field goal attempts in a 42-25 loss at No. 4 Oregon. The Turlock, Calif., product hit a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter, a 43-yarder in the second quarter, one from 25 yards out in the third and a 37-yarder in the fourth. He became the first Bulldog kicker to make four field goals in a game since Oct. 23, 2010 when Kevin Goessling hit four field goals at San Jose State. Breshears also hit his one PAT attempt to give him 13 total points in the contest, which ranks as the highest single-game scoring effort by a MW kicker this season.
