THE SKINNY
Coming off a momentous season-opening 31-24 win at Cal, the Nevada football team comes home to open the Mackay Stadium schedule by playing host to another BCS foe in USF … This will mark Nevada’s first ever game against the Bulls and the Wolf Pack’s first ever game against a school from the Big East Conference … The game will also mark Nevada’s debut on the CBS Sports Network, which will broadcast three Wolf Pack games in 2012 … Nevada is 39-10 at Mackay Stadium since head coach Chris Ault returned to the sidelines in 2004, which includes a 17-2 mark since the start of the 2009 season … This marks the first time since 2007 that Nevada has opened a season with back-to-back games against BCS foes … Nevada has the reigning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week in junior running back Stefphon Jefferson, who tallied career highs in carries (34), yards (147) and touchdowns (3) in the victory at Cal … Sophomore quarterback Cody Fajardo was impressive in the win, with 327 yards of total offense, which includes 230 yards on 25-of-32 passing and 97 yards rushing, which included a 49-yard touchdown run … Nevada had seven players make their first career start last week against Cal, including two freshmen and three sophomores … Nevada was picked second in the Mountain West in preseason voting by the league’s media, behind Boise State … The Wolf Pack had four players named to the Preseason All-MW team in offensive linemen Jeff Nady and Chris Barker, defensive tackle Jack Reynoso and safety Duke Williams ... Nevada returns 13 starters (6/6/1) from last year’s team that finished second in the WAC and went to the Sheraton Hawai`i Bowl and 31 overall letterwinners.

LAST TIME THEY MET
This will be the first meeting between Nevada and South Florida. The Wolf Pack will return the trip of this two-game series on Oct. 3, 2015.
