Preseason Scrimmage Report - Aug. 22
With classes beginning on Monday, the Wolf Pack's preseason camp came to a close today with a scrimmage at Mackay Stadium.
The defense controlled the play thoughout the scrimmage with defensive backs Antoine Thompson and Khalid Wooten each picking off passes during the 90-minute scrimmage session. The offense scored four times with sophomore tight end Zach Sudfeld hauling in a pair of touchdown passes and fellow sophomore Lampford Mark scoring on a 1-yard rush. The other touchdown came late in the action with mostly newcomers on the field. Quarterback David Fisher hit Joseph Huber on a 65-yard catch-and-run for the final score of the day.

CAMPER OF THE DAY: Daryll Hill.
Daryll Hill's playing career came a premature end in December when the defensive end suffered a neck injury in practice in preparation for the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl. Tests later revealed that Hill has a condition in which the opening for his spinal cord is too narrow. Despite surgery to widen the spinal opening, Hill's playing days are over. But that hasn't stopped him from being part of the program. Hill will continue on scholarship and is working as a student assistant coach with the defense. Here's Coach Ault with more:
