RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada football team will open its doors to the public with an open practice Saturday afternoon at Mackay Stadium.

Nevada opened training camp on Monday with the first of its 29 practices before the Aug. 31 opener at UCLA. Friday was the first day of full pads for the Pack.

“We’ll be doing a lot of our base stuff and we’re looking to see some physicality,” first-year coach Brian Polian said.

Parking will be free at the West Stadium Parking Complex (west of Mackay Stadium) and the main gates of the stadium at the southeast entrance will be open. The practice is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.

The team will begin practice at 4:30 p.m. and will practice for approximately two hours. It will be the second of two practices on Saturday – the morning practice is closed to the public.

“I’m pleased with what we have seen so far,” Polian said. “They know what we are looking for. They know how to practice the right way. They’ve got a good idea of things.
