Kickoff time set for Nevada's season opener

Kickoff time set for Nevada's season opener

June 27, 2014

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada football team's home opener against Southern Utah will kick-off at 12 p.m. on Aug. 30, the school announced today.

With four of Nevada's six home games subject to night games because of conference television agreements, the home opener represents the only home game at this point that will feature a daytime kickoff.

Nevada and Southern Utah played the first-ever night game at Mackay Stadium 11 years ago. On Aug. 30, 2003, the Thunderbirds came to Mackay and Nevada pulled out a 24-23 victory in the only meeting between the teams.

Kickoff times are now set for eight of Nevada's 12 games in 2014.

This year's game between Nevada and Southern Utah will be broadcast at NevadaWolfPack.TV on the Mountain West Network. Nevada has nine other games slated for television broadcast and is awaiting television into on two remaining games.

Full season tickets start at just $99 for adults and $45 for youth (8th grade and younger). New to the 2014 season, fans can get a reserved seat season ticket at the $99 price point. Call (775) 348-PACK to purchase or register online at
