RENO, Nev. – A total of 13 Nevada players were named to the Preseason All-Mountain West teams by Phil Steele’s 2012 College Football Preview, the publication announced Thursday.

The Wolf Pack, which enters the Mountain West for its first season this fall, had four first-teamers, five second-teamers, three third-teamers and a fourth-team selection. The magazine hits newsstands on June 5th.

Two of the 13 Wolf Pack players selected have yet to play a game in the Silver and Blue as juco transfer Cortez Woods was picked as a first-team defensive tackle and redshirt freshman running back Tony Knight was a third-teamer.

Senior linemen Chris Barker and Jeff Nady were Nevada’s two first-team selections on offense while safety Duke Williams joined Woods on the first-team defense.

The second team was headed by quarterback Cody Fajardo, the WAC Freshman of the Year in 2011. On defense, Nevada was represented by defensive tackle Jack Reynoso, linebacker Jeremiah Green, cornerback Khalid Wooten and kicker Allen Hardison.

Knight was joined on the third team by offensive tackle Joel Bitonio and safety Marlon Johnson. Wide receiver Brandon Wimberly, who missed all of the 2011 season, was Nevada’s lone fourth-team selection.

The Wolf Pack will open the 2012 season on Sept. 1 at Cal. Season tickets are on sale now at 775-348-PACK and online at NevadaWolfPack.com.
