Kaepernick Selected In Second Round By San Francisco 49ers

RENO, Nev. - Former Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick was selected in the second round  of the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.

The 49ers traded up with the Denver Broncos to select Kaepernick, the only player in college football history to pass for 10,000 yards and rush for 4,000 yards. The pick was the 34th overall and the fourth of the second round.

Kaepernick is the second-highest draft pick in Nevada history. The highest pick was Alex Van Dyke (31st overall) by the New York Jets in 1996.
