RENO, Nev. - The annual Silver and Blue Spring Game highlights a full day's worth of activity on campus at Mackay Stadium on Saturday.
Tailgating lots open Friday evening (with RSVP) and fans are encouraged to come out Saturday morning to tailgate with the Pack. Free food will be available in the tailgate lots as part of the Wolf Pack Tailgate Throwdown, and when gates officially open to Mackay at 1 p.m. from Raising Cane's.
The game, which is presented by Saint Mary's, will officially begin at 2 p.m. with autographs and pictures available with select players and coaches after the game.
"We are looking forward to Saturday and the culmination of spring football with the Silver and Blue Game," second-year coach Brian Polian said. "We hope that our loyal fans will come out, bring lots of energy, and join us as we compete in pads for the last time until August."
The team will be split into Silver and Blue squads for the game on Saturday. The Silver team will be on the home (east) sideline and will feature the first-team defense and second-team offense. They'll face a Blue team highlighted by the first-team offense and second-team defense. Rosters will be announced later this week.
All offensive linemen and specialists will wear silver jerseys and can play for either team. The four-quarter game will have a running clock except for the final two minutes of each half and changes of possesion. There will be no kickoffs but other special teams units will be utilized as needed.
The event will feature a gameday-type atmosphere with cheerleaders, the band, mascots, music, the firing of the cannon, videoboard and other features available. Free parking is available in the West Stadium Parking Complex.
Silver and Blue Outfitters will be hand on the with latest Wolf Pack merchandise and concession stands in the south end zone area will be open.
Games for children and bouncehouses will be available and concession stands at Mackay Stadium will be open. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game as select Wolf Pack players and coaches will be available for pictures and autographs.
A few spaces in the North RV Tailgate lot as still available for free but must be reserved in advance by contacting Meredith Montoya at (775) 682-6905 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Fans are encouraged to come Friday night and tailgate through the night and up to the start of the game.
Last year, Nevada debuted the chili cook-off and this year, the event has been expanded to an all-out tailgating food competition with local celebrity judges. Swing by the north tailgate lots to sample the entries before judging begins at 12:30 p.m. There is still space available to enter. Football season tickets are on sale now and start at just $99 for adults and $45 for youth (8th grade and younger). Sales and information tables for tickets will be available next to the concession stands in the southwest corner of the Mackay Stadium. Game rosters will be available at those tables.

Here's a rundown of the day's events:
11 a.m.: Nevada Soccer alumni match at Mackay Stadium (free and open to the public).
11 a.m.: Nevada football alumni weekend tailgate begins.
12:30 p.m.: Judging begins in the Wolf Pack Tailgate Throwdown.
1 p.m.: Free food from Raising Cane's will be distributed to the first 500 fans at the main (southwest) entrance to Mackay Stadium
1 p.m.: Team will take the field for pre-game warm-ups and drills.
2 p.m.: Silver and Blue Spring Game begins.
Postgame: Select players and coaches will be available underneath the south end zone bleacher for autographs and pictures.
