Wolf Pack football to host open tryout

RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada will hold an open tryout for Nevada students on Tuesday, March 11. The coaching staff will be evaluating every offensive (excluding quarterbacks) and defensive position during this tryout.
Any quarterbacks, kickers, punters or long snappers that wish to try out for the team must wait until Wednesday, April 2. Details for that tryout are still to be determined.
The tryout is only open to current, full-time enrolled University students. Every participant must have the following on the tryout date:
-had a sports physical in the past six months and a completed Nevada sports physical form
-the results of a sickle cell blood test
-Nevada proof of insurance form including copy of insurance card
-completed a Nevada waiver form prior to the tryout
"We are excited about the opportunity to evaluate athletes from our student body," said head coach Brian Polian. "We hope to identify a couple of people who might be able to help our team in the pursuit of a Mountain West Conference championship."
Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. on March 11 with the tryout set to begin at 4 p.m. at Mackay Stadium. Participants should arrive with all documentation, dressed and ready to workout in position specific drills.
