Nevada 2003: Started one game and had the long reception of the year for the Pack, a 74-yard scoring pass from Andy heiser against San Jose State. Gained 405 yards on 73 carries sfor a 5.5 average per carry. Cauaght 12 balls for 162 yards. Was switched to wide receiver in the spring 2004 but will play both running back and wide receiver in 2004. Also can return kicks. Junior College: Wise played the 2001 and 2002 football seasons at Joliet (Ill.) Junior College, playing wide receiver, running back and serving as a kick returner. He had 25 catches for 475 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman and had 20 catches for over 500 yards as a sophomore and also averaged over 20 yards on kickoff returns and over 10 yards on punt returns in 2002. He was named honorable mention North Central Community College Conference as a wide receiver and kick returner in 2001. He helped Joliet win back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association football championships in 2001 and 2002. He played one year of JC basketball at Garden City (Kan.) Community College in 2000 but did not play football that year. High School: A multi-sport star at Simeon High School in Chicago, he was an all-city and all-state selection in football his senior year, rushing for over 2,100 yards on 185 carries for a 15 yard per carry average and scoring 31 touchdowns on the ground. He added 15 catches for 221 yards and nine TD's and was a dangerous kick returner, taking two kickoffs and one punt back for touchdowns. The starting point guard on Simeon's basketball team, he helped them advance to the Chicago Final Four in averaging 15 points and seven assists as a senior in 2000.
