Total of 63 student-athletes from fall sports are honored for academic successes.

SENIOR (2017) – Will eye an increased role at wide receiver in his final season with Nevada after playing a large role in the team’s spring scrimmage.

JUNIOR (2016)
– Played in 10 of Nevada’s 12 games as a junior … Saw time on kickoff coverage and on offensive packages … Did not record a reception … Named Nevada’s offensive scout team player of the week following the team’s season opening win over Cal Poly (9/2).

SOPHOMORE (2015) - Played in seven games on the season … Made his collegiate debut in Nevada’s season-opening victory against UC Davis … Saw playing time against UC Davis, Arizona, Texas A&M, UNLV, Wyoming, San Jose State and against Colorado State in the 2015 Arizona Bowl … Letter winner.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2014) - Served as a student assistant after recovering from a serious infection that led to hospitalization in the spring.

FRESHMAN (2013) - Joined the team as a true freshman and redshirted his first full season with the program.

HIGH SCHOOL - A graduate of Galena High School ... Was a three-year letter winner in football and also lettered in track and field, baseball and basketball ... Was part of a league championship team as a senior in 2012 ... Earned second-team All-League honors ... Was a member of the National Honor Society and earned an academic-athlete award.

PERSONAL - Born Tucker McKenna Melcher ... Son of Bubba and Tracy Melcher ... Has a younger brother and a younger sister ... His father played tight end at Nevada and was a four-year letter winner (1978-81) ... Uncle played defensive end at UNLV ... Earning a degree in public health … Picked Nevada because it has been his dream to play here since the second grade.
