Senior (2016): Named to Lindy’s Sports Preseason All-Mountain West second team and the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year award watch list … A steady and veteran presence on Nevada’s defensive line and potentially one of the top defensive tackles in the league … Looks to have another productive season entering his final year in Reno.
Junior (2015): Played in 12 games with 10 starts … Tallied 22 tackles, 4.0 TFL, one sack, one pass breakup and one QB hurry on the season … Named Nevada’s defensive player of the week after tallying two TFL and one sack against UC Davis … Matched a season-high with four tackles against UNLV and San Diego State … Missed the Fresno State game due to injury … Helped Nevada rank fifth in the Mountain West in rush defense … Letter winner.
Sophomore (2014): Played in all 13 games in 2014, seeing action at defensive tackle and on special teams ... Posted 33 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and one pass breakup ... Made 18 solo tackles and 15 assisted stops ... Started at DT against Arizona and in wins against Hawai'i and San Diego State ... First player to come off the bench on the defensive line.
Redshirt Freshman (2013): Moved from the offensive line to the defensive front in the offseason and played in all 12 games with no starts ... Recorded 12 tackles on the year with 1.5 for a loss, including a half-sack ... First stop behind the line of scrimmage came against UC Davis ... The half-sack was in a win over Hawaii ... Also set a career high with three tackles against Hawaii ... Broke up a pass against Colorado State.
Freshman (2012): Joined the team as a true freshman and redshirted his first season at Nevada.
A graduate of Grant High School in Sacramento, Calif. ... Was a two-year letterman in football and was part of a Delta Valley Championship in 2011 ... Earned first-team all-city honors on offense and defense and was also a first-team all-conference selection on offense and defense.
Born Charles-Salesa Onesemo Faraimo on Aug. 31, 1994 ... Son of Luisa and Richard Fepuluai Faraimo ... Goes by "Salesa" ... Has an older brother, Ricky, and younger sisters Erica and Maevega ... Had recruiting interest from Colorado, Oregon and Arizona State, among others, but chose Nevada in part because of the high graduation rate of student-athletes ... Is a community health science major ... Sports hero is Junior Seau ... Favorite sports memory was a 16-tackle performance in the playoffs against Franklin High School ... Enjoys spending time with family and friends and trying new things.
