Nevada 2002: Red-Shirted in 2002, his first year at Nevada. High School: Garcia was a three-sport standout at Vanden High School in Fairfield, Calif. Also a starter in basketball and the top discus thrower in the state, the all-city and all-county Most Valuable Lineman was all-city, all-league and all-county for a team that was 11th in the state and went 10-2 in 2001. He earned the Wolf Pack MVP Award that summer for defensive linemen at the Nevada football camp.
