Earned first-team all-area honors from the Sacramento Bee and was also named second-team All-NorCal and third-team All-State as a senior ... Was second-team all-league in baseball as a senior and was a two-time letterwinner on the diamond.

Had recruiting interest from a number of schools, including Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, LSU, Fresno State and Wyoming but chose Nevada because "it felt like home" ... Enjoys working out, listening to music and playing the drums.
