RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada senior guard Deonte Burton has been named to the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational all-tournament team. The Wolf Pack went 1-3 in the invitational that included two homes games and two at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
Burton averaged 21.8 points, three rebounds and three assists in the four games. He scored 19 or more points in all four games and led the Pack in scoring in three games. In the Missouri game he tied Jerry Evans, Jr. for team honors with 20 points.
In the first game at home against Chattanooga he scored a game-high 28 points and hit the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Pack the 83-81 victory.
At home against Morehead State Burton scored a game-high 19 points in the eight point loss.
Against #19 UCLA at the Orleans Arena he led the team with 20 points and dished out five assists. In the final game of the invitational versus Missouri he and Evans tied for team high honors with 20 points each. Burton grabbed five rebounds and three blocks against the Tigers.
