Kemp Scores 29 to Lead Nevada Past Oregon State 75-47

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Marcelus Kemp scored 29 points, Nick Fazekas had 19 points and 18 rebounds and No. 24 Nevada beat Oregon State 75-47 Wednesday night.

Kemp scored 13 points in the first 9:35 of the second half, including a pair of layups that put Nevada ahead 36-26 with 16:33 left. His 3-pointer with 10:25 remaining made it 49-35.

The Wolf Pack (2-0) led 30-23 at halftime.

Angelo Tsagarakis had 11 points and Kyle Jeffers 10 for Oregon State (2-2).

Nevada outrebounded Oregon State 54-24. The Wolf Pack had four players with five or more rebounds.

Fazekas, the reigning two-time Western Athletic Conference player of the year, scored six points in a 10-2 Nevada run that put the Wolf Pack ahead 28-20 with 1:35 remaining in the half. He finished with 13 points and eight rebounds in the first half.

Oregon State's Sasa Cuic and Marcel Jones, who combined for more than 35 points in the Beavers' first three games, had just three points together at halftime. Jones finished with three points on 1-for-12 shooting and Cuic had one point, missing all seven of his shots from the field.

Nevada shot 50 percent (30-for-60) for the game and Oregon State finished at 29 percent (18-for-62).
