"The most important thing is his health and recovery," Carter said. "We trust our trainers and doctors to make the best decisions when it comes to our student-athletes and their welfare. We are disappointed that Chris is unable to play at this particular time.
There is not a specific timetable for Brown's return at this time. Brown is a 6-foot-11 center who transferred to Nevada this year from Western Texas College.
"Chris has been diagnosed with a serious but treatable medical condition," Nevada team physician Dr. Carol Scott said. "This diagnosis requires him to take a medication that will not allow him to participate and he will be out indefinitely. The health and safety of our student-athletes is always a priority and we anticipate him to do well with this course of treatment."
