RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada head men’s basketball coach David Carter announced today that center Chris Brown will play for the Wolf Pack this season. Brown, from Houston, is a transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining to play for the Pack.
“Chris gives us an inside presence,” Carter said. “He has an opportunity to contribute immediately and gives us a true center.”
The 6-11, 265-pound center began his collegiate career at Oregon State and played this past season at Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas. Brown played in just six games for the Westerners because of injury but has been cleared to join the Pack for the 2013-14 season. He averaged eight points and two rebounds per game in the six contests last season. From the field he made 75 percent of his shots connecting on 22-of-29 attempts. As a prep athlete he attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.
