RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada announced its 13 game nonconference men's basketball schedule that is highlighted by a home contest with California on Dec. 7. The Wolf Pack will play seven nonconference home games which includes one exhibition contest.
The Pack's 18-game Mountain West schedule will be released in August and Nevada will host nine conference games again this season. Times for the home games will be set once the conference schedule has been determined.
"I am excited about our preseason schedule," Nevada head coach David Carter said. "We will be challenged before starting conference play. We have added five new players that will provide us with more depth next season and are looking forward to an exciting season."
The home exhibition contest versus Cal State San Marcos on Nov. 8 gets the season started. The regular season gets underway with a pair of home games with Cal Poly on Nov. 15 and Adams State on Nov. 17.
Nevada competes in the 2014 Ezybonds Global Payments US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, Nov. 21-24. The Pack opens play against Big East Conference member Seton Hall and the game will air on the CBS Sports Network. A day two matchup is with either Clemson or Gardner Web. The final opponent will be determined by play on the first two days. The tournament in its 15th season includes; Clemson, Garner Webb, Seton Hall, LSU, Old Dominion, Illinois State, Weber State along with the Pack.
The CBS Sports Network is carrying six games of the tournament including the semifinals and championship on Nov. 23-24. Games not airing on CBS Sports Network will be streamed on Paradisejam.com. Additional information on the tournament is available at Paradisejam.com.
Nevada plays at Omaha on Nov. 29 and Long Beach State on Dec. 3 before returning home for three consecutive home games. The matchup with Cal is set for Dec. 7 followed by home contests with Northwest Christian Dec. 10 and Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 13. After a road trip to Pacific on Dec. 18 the Pack concludes its nonconference schedule at home versus Conference USA member Marshall on Dec. 22.
