RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada men’s basketball team will hold its annual Starting 5 Dinner on Wednesday, April 4 in the Grand Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino. Cost for the dinner is $50 and all Wolf Pack fans are invited to the postseason celebration.

The Pack are coming off an exciting season that included a Western Athletic Conference title with a 13-1 mark and overall record of 28-7. The 28 wins is tied for the second most in school history. The 2011-12 team tied the school record by winning 16 consecutive games.
Playing in the postseason for the ninth time in 10 years, Nevada advanced to the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament for the first time in school history.
All five Nevada starters earned WAC postseason recognition. Sophomore guard Deonte Burton was named the Player of the Year and was joined on the All-WAC first team by senior forward Olek Czyz. Senior forward Dario Hunt was a second-team All-WAC selection and was named the WAC Defensive squad for the third year in a row. Sophomore guard Jerry Evans, Jr. joined Hunt on the WAC Defensive team. Junior guard Malik Story was named to the honorable mention WAC team.
Burton also earned AP Honorable Mention All-America and NABC District 6 first-team honors for his play. Story was selected to the USBWA District VIII team.
Head coach David Carter was named the WAC Coach of the Year after leading the Wolf Pack to the conference title. Carter became just the second Nevada coach to lead the Pack to two 20 win seasons. His first team was 21-13 in 2009-10 and played in the NIT.
