Deonte Burton had 27 points for Nevada (12-18, 3-13), losers of seven straight. Malik Story had 14 for the Wolf Pack, who suffered their sixth consecutive road loss.
Nevada, the No. 9 seed, will face eighth-seeded Wyoming in the conference tournament's play-in game.
Colton Iverson had 21 points and nine rebounds as Colorado State secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Mountain West Conference tournament with a 77-66 victory over Nevada on Saturday night.
Wes Eikmeier added 20 points, and Pierce Hornung had 16 points and 13 rebounds, for Colorado State (24-7, 11-5 Mountain West), which set a school record for wins in a regular season.
Colorado State lost guard Dorian Green midway through the first half. Green, the team's second-leading scorer, suffered an injury to his right ankle.
The Rams draw No. 7 seed Fresno State as their first opponent on Wednesday.
University of Nevada Men’s Basketball
Nevada is 12-18, 3-13 in the Mountain West after falling 77-66 at Colorado State (24-7, 11-5 MW) tonight.
Nevada opens play in the 2013 Reese’s Mountain West Basketball Championships versus Wyoming on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Wolf Pack is seeded ninth and the Cowboys eighth. Wyoming both games this season.
The Wolf Pack has lost a season-high seven in row.
Junior point guard Deonte Burton scored a game-high 27points. It was the 10th time he posted a game-high this season, ninth time he scored 20 or more points, 17th time he led the Pack in scoring and 25th time he reached double figures.
Freshman guard Marqueze Coleman made his first start and scored a career-high 12 points. Coleman also grabbed a team and season-best five rebounds. He also played a season-high 30 minutes.
Malik Story also reached double figures with 14 points. It was his 22nd double figure scoring game of the season and 74th of his career.
Burton and Story have started all 97 games of their careers in the Pack backcourt.
Fourth-year head coach David Carter is 74-57 at Nevada.
