The 2011-12 season will mark the first for Chad Bell as a graduate assistant with the Nevada men's basketball program. Bell will assist in all areas of the program including coaching on the floor.

Prior to returning to his alma mater he began his coaching career at Wyoming last season, where his duties included film exchange and practice preparation.

Bell played two seasons at Nevada after transferring from New Mexico. Following a redshirt season under NCAA transfer rules he played the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons for the Wolf Pack.

The Pack went 25-7 his junior year, captured the WAC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to top seed Illinois. His senior year the Pack posted a 27-6 mark, repeated as WAC regular season and tournament champions. In the NCAA Tournament Nevada lost its opening round game to Montana.

Following college, Bell played in the NBA Summer League and went to minicamp with the Atlanta Hawks. He played in the NBA D-League in 2006-07 and for part of the 2007-08 season. He then played with the Albany Patroons of the CBA in 2008 and also had a stint with the ABA's Quebec City Kebs. Bell finished his playing career during the 2008-09 season in Romania.

Bell played high school basketball for nationally ranked Westchester High School in Los Angeles, Calif. for legendary coach Ed Azzam.

Following his playing days at for the Wolf Pack, Bell received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Nevada in 2006. He is working on a master's qdegree in educational leadership at Nevada.
