Nevada Adds Sixth Recruit For 2012

RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada head baseball coach Gary Powers has signed Serra High School senior Barry Timko to pitch for the Wolf Pack in 2012.  Timko is the sixth recruit for the Pack during the early signing period joining high school seniors Brady Dragmire, Kyle Hunt, Ryan Teel and Nicholas Valenza along with Western Nevada College transfer Brooks Klein.

Timko is a 6-1, 170-pound left-handed pitcher from Serra High School in San Mateo, California.  His junior season he posted an 8-2 record with a 2.94 ERA and struck out 53 in just 62 innings as the team went 25-7.  Following his junior season he earned All-WCAL honors and was a member of the San Francisco Giants scout team.

“Barry along with Brady and Nick will be huge additions to our pitching staff and will definitely contribute for us on the mound as freshmen.” Powers said.  “These three pitchers are the future of our pitching staff.”
