McNamara To Join Wolf Pack Baseball Staff

Reno, Nev.    University of Nevada head baseball coach Gary Powers has added Gary McNamara to the Wolf Pack staff as the team’s volunteer coach.  McNamara returns to the staff after stepping down from the position of head coach at Galena High School where he coached the past six seasons.
This will mark his second stint of serving as an assistant at Nevada having spent three seasons from 1998-2000 coaching in the program.  He helped guide the Pack to a pair NCAA Regional appearances in 1998 and 2000.
In six seasons at Galena High School he posted a 155-59 record and captured the last two Northern Nevada Championships.  This past season the Grizzlies placed second at the state championship.
“I’m really excited to have Coach McNamara back in our program,” said Powers.  “He brings great enthusiasm and knowledge to our program.  I feel he has the intangibles needed to help us continue improving as a baseball program.  I, personally, am looking forward to working side by side with him again.”
“I’m extremely excited to be back in the Nevada baseball program,” said McNamara.  “After extensive talks with the coaching staff I wanted to be part of the program again and the positive direction in which the team is headed.”
