Barnett And Graham Named Verizon WAC Players of the Week





DENVER - Nevada's Brian Barnett and Tyler Graham have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for May 17-23.

Barnett, a junior outfielder/infielder from Reno, Nevada (Western Nevada), hit .500 (10-for-20) last week, helping the Wolf Pack to a 4-1 record. Barnett scored nine runs, walked twice, was hit by a pitch once, had three doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI as the Pack defeated UC Davis and took three of four games from Louisiana Tech. Barnett's slugging percentage for the week was 1.400 and he had an on-base percentage of .565.

Graham, a senior from Shingle Springs, Calif. (Sierra JC), was perfect on the week, earning saves in three opportunities. He earned saves in three of the Pack's four wins as Nevada went 4-1. Graham did not allow a run and only gave up a single hit in 4.2 innings of work. He also tallied three strikeouts.
