Pack On Top 3-2 When Rain Forces Game To Be Postponed Until Saturday

Ruston, La. With the University of Nevada leading Louisiana Tech 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning at JC Love Field in Ruston, La. the game was postponed due to rain until Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. central time.  It was the second delay of the game as a 30 minute delay due to lightning in the area halted the game in the fourth inning.

Tonight’s postponed game will be completed at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and then game two of the series will be played 45 minutes following the conclusion of the postponed contest.  The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m. to conclude the four-game WAC series.

Wolf Pack shortstop Kevin Rodland broke the 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh inning with a solo home run over the left field fence and it was 3-2.  After second baseman David Ciarlo was hit by pitch Tech starter Alan Knotts was replaced by Alex Richard.  While Richard was warming up a lightning strike forced the teams from the field and the rains followed to wash out play for the remainder of the night.
