NEVADA RETURNS TO MW PLAY AT AIR FORCE: After four nonconference games the University of Nevada (23-18, 13-8 MW) returns to Mountain West play with a three-game series at Air Force (15-29, 5-16 MW) this weekend. Friday's game is set for 2:00 p.m. PT with Saturday's game starting at noon. The series finale on Sunday is a 11:00 a.m. first pitch.
The Wolf Pack swept the three-game series in Reno earlier this season. Nevada is third in the MW standings at 13-8 with the Falcons seventh at 5-16.
After the trip to the AFA the Pack returns home to begin a season-high six-game homestand to end the home schedule. Nevada hosts UC Davis on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and St. Mary's College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Nevada completes sweep of Air Force
RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada (12-11, 6-6 MW) baseball team defeated Air Force (4-18, 1-8 MW) 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at Peccole Park to complete the three-game series sweep of the Falcons. With the victory the Wolf Pack improved to 12-11 on the season and has a winning record for the first time since Feb. 15 when the club was 2-1. The Pack is now 6-6 in MW play while the Falcons are 4-18 overall and 1-8 in conference play.

Nevada falls in extra innings at UC Davis
DAVIS, Calif. - The University of Nevada (12-12) baseball team lost a nonconference game 4-3 to UC Davis (12-9) at Dobbins Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The loss snapped the Wolf Pack's three-game winning streak as they fell to 12-12 on the season. The Aggies improved to 12-9 with the victory.

Errors Costly In Nevada's Loss To St. Mary's
RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada tied its season-high with four errors and could manage just three hits in a 5-2 loss to St. Mary's College on Tuesday afternoon at Peccole Park. The loss dropped the Wolf Pack to .500 on the season at 24-24 while the Gaels improved to 19-28.

ST. MARY'S GAME ADDED: The University of Nevada has added a game to the schedule this season and will host St. Mary's College at Peccole Park on May 7 at 4 p.m. Season ticket holders were mailed tickets for the additional game.
PACK THIRD: With three weeks of MW play remaining Nevada is third in the conference standings with a 13-8 record. The Wolf Pack is one game behind second place New Mexico (14-7). UNLV leads the conference with a 16-6 record.
San Diego State is fourth, just one game back of the Pack at 12-9. Fresno State (11-13), San José State (6-15) and Air Force (5-16) are the final three teams in the standings.
JOHNSON WINS 60th: First-year head coach Jay Johnson earned his 60th win as a head coach on Tuesday when the Pack defeated Sacramento State 10-3 at Aces Ballpark. Win number 50 came earlier this season when the Pack defeated Grand Canyon 3-2 on Apr. 1. Johnson is a 60-34 in two seasons as a head coach. Johnson took over for Gary Powers who retired after 31 seasons leading the Wolf Pack. Powers won 937 games leading the Wolf Pack. Johnson came to Nevada after spending the last eight seasons as associate head coach at the University of San Diego.

MEYER CLOSING IN ON TOP 10: Junior Kewby Meyer's 20 doubles leads the Mountain West and is second nationally. One more double will tie him for 10th most in a season at Nevada with John DeRicco (1989), Andy Dominique (1995) and Brian Barnett (2010). The 20 doubles is a career high and in his two plus seasons has 40 doubles in the Silver & Blue. Four more doubles would tie Matt Ortiz (1998-00) for 10th in school history.
KAPLAN EARNS ACADEMIC HONOR: Senior infielder Scott Kaplan has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII baseball team. Kaplan, from Dana Point, Calif. has grade point average of 3.95 in Community Health Science and will now appear on the national ballot in hopes of earning academic All-America honors. The senior has played primarily third base this season but has also seen time at second base.
