Barnett Hits 21st Career Home Run: Infielder/outfielder Brian Barnett hit his 21st career home run in the second game of the Wolf Pack's first home series of 2011 series vs. UNLV (3/5). The senior hit his 19th and 20th career blasts in the Wolf Pack's season-opening series at UC Irvine. Barnett hit 18 home runs last year in his first season at Nevada, tying him with Ben Mummy and Shawn Scobee for fourth most in a season in Nevada history.

Joe Kohan Named WAC Hitter of the Week (Apr. 4-10): Kohan helped the Wolf Pack  to a 3-1 record last week with a win over UC Davis (4/4) and two wins against Seattle ... Kohan hit .400 (6-for-15) with three runs scored, three walks, two doubles, a grand slam and seven RBI ... he had two hits in each of the first three games of the week ... in the second game of the Seattle series (4/9), Kohan hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning to pull the Pack within a run as the team rallied for the 11-10 victory ... he started all four games at second base and did not commit an error, and had an on base percentage of .500 with a .733 slugging percentage on the week ... the junior is batting .333 on the year, with 14 walks, 33 hits, seven doubles, two triples and 19 RBI ... his .333 average is 10th best in the conference, his .535 slugging percentage is seventh best, 53 total bases are eighth most, and his two triples are tied for second most.

Stassi Becoming an On-Base Machine: Senior Brock Stassi moved from the middle of the lineup to the leadoff spot at UC Davis (3/8)... Stassi drew six walks and posted a .667 on-base percentage vs. UNLV (3/4-3/6) and has reached base in all but one of the Pack's 28 games this season ... Stassi has the fifth highest on base percentage a .475 on-base percentage and ranks 20th in hitting with a .312 average ... the 2010 second team All-WAC utility honoree has drawn 25 walks and been hit by four pitches this season ... his 25 walks are third best in the conference ... solo home run in the bottom of the eighth vs. SFSU (4/12) tied the game and led to a ninth inning win ... his 25 walks to 19 strikeouts is the best ratio on the team.

Gardner Flourishing in Closing Role: Matt Gardner's four saves are tied for sixth most in the WAC and he needs just two more to enter the top 10 all-time for most saves in a season at Nevada ... has had a win or save in six of Nevada's 11 wins ... he earned his first career save at UC Davis (3/8) ... his second save came against Pacific (3/12) when he gave up no runs and no hits in one inning of work ... he earned his third save of the year at Washington (3/25) when he gave up no runs, no hits and struck out two in Nevada's 2-1 victory over the Huskies ... his fourth save came vs. Utah Valley (4/1) when he pitched a hitless ninth inning to seal a 5-4 victory ... he earned his first career victory vs. Utah Valley (4/3) when he struck out the side in the top of the tenth ... his second win came against San Francisco State (4/12) ... Wolf Pack-Aces Exhibition Raises $15,000 For Dugout Club: The University of Nevada and Reno Aces Baseball Club played the Silver City Classic, an exhibition game at Aces Ballpark Tuesday Apr. 5. The game marked the second year in a row the two teams played an exhibition contest just prior to the start of the Aces season and for the second time $15,000 was raised for the Nevada Dugout Club.  The Aces won this year's game 9-3 and last year's 11-1.
