RENO, Nev. - After taking a three-game series from rival UNLV with two wins this weekend, the University of Nevada baseball team (7-4) will meet San Francisco State (8-8) Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Peccole Park.
The game was originally scheduled to take place Tuesday at the same time, but was moved due to the likelihood of severe weather.
Nevada dropped Friday's contest with the Rebels, but came back Saturday and Sunday with a vengeance. All three games were of the one-run variety. They ended 5-4 on Friday, 3-2 on Saturday and 1-0 on Sunday.
On Saturday, Brooks Klein homered with the game tied at one in the eighth inning, hitting his second ball in as many days over the right-field fence. Tyler Wells won his second game of the season, going seven innings, giving up five hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.
On Sunday, Tom Jameson had his best performance of 2012, as the junior went seven innings without giving up an earned run. He struck out three Rebel hitters and issued two walks, leveling his record at 1-1.
