Nevada at Santa Clara Tuesday

RENO, Nev. – After taking two of three from Utah Valley University at Peccole Park, to move to 5-2 overall, the University of Nevada baseball team will travel to Santa Clara, Calif. to take on the Broncos (6-2) Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Bradey Shipley moved to 2-0 with six shutout innings in a 6-4 win Friday for the Wolf Pack. In 11 innings, the sophomore right-hander has allowed only five hits and struck out 16 batters. He is yet to allow a run in 2012. Tyler Wells won Saturday for his first victory of the season. He has a 1.74 ERA in 10.1 innings.

Brett Jones is leading the way at the plate for the Pack, hitting .448 with four doubles and four RBI. Two other players, Kewby Meyer (.409) and Joe Kohan (.400) are hitting at least .400.

Dan Levine (0-0, 5.79 ERA) will start for Nevada, while Powell Fansler (3-0, 4.50 ERA) will start for Santa Clara.

The game can be heard on ESPN Radio 1450 AM in northern Nevada. Don Marchand will have the call.
