RENO, Nev. -  The University of  Nevada (12-11, 6-6 MW) baseball team defeated Air Force (4-18, 1-8 MW) 7-1 on Sunday afternoon at Peccole Park to complete the three-game series sweep of the Falcons.  With the victory the Wolf Pack improved to 12-11 on the season and has a winning record for the first time since Feb. 15 when the club was 2-1.  The Pack is now 6-6 in MW play while the Falcons are 4-18 overall and 1-8 in conference play.

The sweep was the first for the Pack in two years of MW play and first since taking three in  a nonconference series from Holy Cross at home in March of last season.  Nevada has won a season-high three in a row for the third time this season.

With the game tied at one going to the bottom of the fourth inning Nevada scored four times on four hits to move in front 5-1.  With two out third baseman Scott Kaplan, center fielder Jay Anderson and second baseman Justin Bridgman delivered RBI hits.  Kaplan doubled home the first run and Anderson's triple scored two more.  Bridgman laid down a bunt single that scored the final run of the big inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning right fielder Brad Gerig's second double of the game scored two runs to make the final score 7-1.  Gerig's first double scored the Pack's first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning.

Pack starter Tyler Wells (1-3) earned his first win of the season allowing just one run on six hits in seven innings on the mound.  The bullpen pitched two scoreless innings to seal the victory.  Air Force starter Bo Wilson (0-2) suffered the loss giving up seven runs on eight hits in 7.1 innings on the mound.

Left fielder Kewby Meyer (2-for-4,2) and Gerig (2-for-3,R,3RBI) had two hits apiece to lead the Wolf Pack.  Gerig drove in three runs and Anderson two for Nevada.
Falcon shortstop Russell Williams (2-for-4,RBI) topped Air Force with two hits and drove in the run.
