STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of Nevada baseball team earned a victory on Tuesday when Tommy Niebergall delivered a pinch hit double to left field to score two runners and seal a 11-9 victory over the Pacific Tigers.

The surging Wolf Pack (9-4) was victorious in the duel with the Tigers (4-7) and have now won four straight. Seven Nevada players had hits on the day, including Niebergall, who doubled in his only plate appearance. Brooks Klein was 3-for-6 with and RBI and run scored, while Brett Jones was 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored.

Pacific began the scoring in the bottom of the first after a leadoff walk to Brett Sullivan resulted in a run. The Pack responded in the second by scoring five runs, started by a Jones single up the middle. After a walk by Scott Kaplan and a single by Kyle Hunt, two Pacific pitchers combined to walk in three straight runs. Klein added an infield single for his RBI, and Austin Byler hit a sharp grounder to the right side to make the score 5-1 Pack.

Pacific responded with two runs in the third and five runs in the fourth to take the lead 8-5, but the Pack fired back with four runs in the sixth before Niebergall's double gave them a cushion.

Pacific scored in the bottom of the eighth but left two runners stranded when Michael Fain entered the ballgame for his fourth save of the season. Colby Blueberg earned his first win of the season with 2 2/3 scoreless innings, while John Haberman took the loss.

The Wolf Pack is back in action again on Thursday, March 7 when it travels to Orem, Utah for a three-game series with Utah Valley.
