2000(Fr.): Earned All-Big West Conference and freshman All-America honors after posting a 14-2 record that included two shutouts and three complete games...14 wins established a new Nevada record and the 18 starts tied the Wolf Pack single season mark...recorded 97 strikeouts in 122.2 innings pitched...led the Big West and tied for sixth in NCAA I with 14 victories...first win at Nevada was a gem pitching seven shutout innings striking out 11 batters and did not allow an extra base hit in the Wolf Pack?s 3-0 victory at Cal State Northridge...picked up the win in Nevada?s 13-5 regional victory over Fresno State...won the first eight games he pitched for the Wolf Pack and then suffered two losses in three starts before rebounding to win five of his last seven starts.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in baseball all four years as a pitcher at Carson High School in Carson City, Nev....member of the zone championship teams of 1996 and ?98 and the Nevada State runner?s-up squad of 1998...earned all-conference honors all four years and was named Most Valuable Pitcher of the North both his junior and senior seasons.
