Jacksonville, Ala. Following their first loss of the season against Jacksonville State University last Saturday, the University of Nevada rifle team picked up their fifth win of the season by defeating Memphis 4606-4394 last Sunday at Jacksonville State University’s range.
Junior Andrew Hickey shot a season record 580 in the small bore. Hickey finished the match with a huge lead over both his Wolf Pack teammates and the Tigers. Senior Lee Lemenager, junior Sarah Smith and freshman Jessica Klatt shot a 567. Memphis sophomore Keegan Singleton led the Tigers in small bore with a shot of 569.
Senior Meghann Morrill shot a 590 to take the win in the air rifle. Hickey’s shot of 582 and Klatt’s 579 topped Singleton’s 578, who also led the Tigers in the air rifle. Smith shot a 574 to finish above Memphis sophomore Britton Watson (551) and freshmen Luke Reyerkerk (562) and Amelia Stacey (547).
Sophomore Heather Horn shot as an individual. She finished with a 561 in the small bore and a 570 in the air rifle. Also shooting individually were Morrill in the small bore and Lemenager in the air rifle.
The Pack will travel to El Paso, Texas to take on UTEP this weekend series. The Wolf Pack has met UTEP three times this season and won all of them. The Wolf Pack will meet UTEP four more times this season.
