RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada rifle team will compete against the Sutter Rifle Club in an exhibition match on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. following the match. The match and open house will take place at the range located in the Nevada Genomics Center at 910 Valley Road.

The rifle team is comprised of 16 members this season. The team is a mixed squad of both men and women. The athletes shoot both small bore and air rifle during competitions. In 2013-14 the team will be competing in the newly formed Patriot Rifle Conference (PRC). The six team conference is comprised of the U.S. Air Force Academy, TCU, Ohio State, Nevada, UTEP, and the University of Alaska. The conference will include head-to-head matches throughout the season, with a conference championship scheduled at Ohio State Feb. 8-9 (smallbore on Saturday, air rifle on Sunday). Air Force Academy head coach Launi Meili is the PRC commissioner.
