RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada sophomore Greta Ochsner competed at the 2014 National Junior Olympic Championships held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Apr. 18-19.
The Sutter, Calif. native placed 11th in the 50-meter three position smallbore and 42nd in the 10-meter air rifle.
In smallbore Ochsner shot a personal best with scores of 573 on day 1 and 570 the second day for a combined score of 1143 to place 11th. She had 58 perfect X’s in two days of competition.
“Greta had a personal best to rank among America’s best at this match,” head coach Fred Harvey said. “We look forward to her leading us to a great season next year.”
Competing in the 10-meter air rifle on day 1 Ochsner had 21 perfect X’s and totaled 400.9. In day 2 she again had 21 perfect X’s and improved her scored to 403.1. Her two day total was 804 with 42 perfect X’s in 120 shots.
