Nevada to compete in first Patriot Rifle Conference Championship

The 17th ranked Nevada rifle team will compete in the first PRC Championship this weekend.

RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada rifle team will travel to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the first Patriot Rifle Conference Championship hosted by Ohio State this weekend. The small bore will be held on Saturday and the air rifle takes place on Sunday.

 The Wolf Pack is 2-2 in dual competition against teams from the PRC this season.

The PRC is its first year and will hold its inaugural championship over the weekend.  The first-year conference consists of Air Force, Alaska-Fairbanks, Ohio State, TCU, UTEP and the Wolf Pack.

“We are looking forward to the PRC Championship,” head coach Fred Harvey said.  “OSU is always a great venue.”

Five of the six schools in the PRC are ranked among the top 20 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association poll.  Alaska-Fairbanks is the top ranked PRC school at number three.  Air Force and Ohio State give the conference three schools in the top 10.  Nevada is 17th and UTEP ranks 20th.
