Mackay Stadium Media Information
Credentials & Parking
Requests for season and single-game credentials and parking from local and national media should be faxed or mailed on official letterhead to the Nevada Media Services Office (fax: 775-784-4386) at least 48 hours prior to the event. Media covering the visiting team should make their credential requests through their sports information department, which will forward those requests to the University of Nevada. Nevada will Fed Ex credentials and parking to the visiting sports information director early in the week of the game.
Credentials will be issued to full-time, salaried journalists from media outlets that cover the University of Nevada regularly and substantially and non-full-time representatives who regularly and customarily perform services for that media outlet as well as media outlets who perform those functions for the visiting team. Please see the Nevada Athletics Media Credential Policy for more information.
Credentials are not transferable and should only be used by media members with a legitimate working function. Non-working individuals from a media outlet, children, spouses, friends, etc., will not be permitted in media areas. Violation of this policy will result in immediate revocation of credentials. Issuance of season media credentials does not guarantee working space on press row or in media work areas.
Media parking is available in the West Stadium Parking Garage or in the overflow media lot east of Lombardi Rec Center. Parking passes can be requested from the Media Services Office.
Visiting Radio Booth
The visiting radio booth is located on the second floor in the main press box (north radio booth) on the west side of stadium in the sky building. Access to the press box is allowed four hours prior to kickoff via the elevator in the back or by using the stairs to the north or south of the elevator.
Radio Phone Lines
We have a standard POTS line and a multi-point ISDN line available in the main visiting radio booth on the second floor of the press box. The POTS number is 775-327-2062. Dial '9' to get an outside line. The ISDN line is a multi-point line with a 5ESS custom switch. The circuit number for the ISDN line is 17IBDC006360.000NV and the SPID numbers are SPID B1: 01-334-4097-0 and SPID B2: 01-334-4098-0. The game-day trouble number for ISDN lines is 1-800-332-1321. Although the University of Nevada maintains the installation, disconnect and monthly charges for these lines, please use a credit card to make long distance calls or have your station call you back on these numbers.
Visiting Locker Room
Located in the southeast corner of the stadium complex. No phones are available in this facility. There is a clear view of the locker room from the visiting radio booth, so a good cellular connection may be used for visiting radio wishing to do a coach's show. If that will not work for your needs, a phone line may be ordered for this purpose at your expense by calling AT&T at 775-688-7200.
We will make every effort possible to help you hire statisticians and spotters for your broadcast, but give us as much time as possible to secure help. It is expected that these people will be compensated for their time.
Press Box Services
A light lunch is provided in the back hallway of the press box approximately two hours before the game, while soft drinks are available throughout the game in the main press box. We provide stats monitors throughout the press box, and live, in-game scoring is also available on our web site, www.nevadawolfpack.com, During the game, we distribute scores from around the nation, stats and play-by-plays after each quarter along with final stat books, notes and quotes after the game. We can also fax or email stats to your media outlet. Please let any member of the Nevada Media Services staff know if you have any requests and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Internet Access & Phone Lines
We have a number of Ethernet connections as well as wireless internet available in the Mackay Stadium press box. The IP addresses for the ethernet lines are posted throughout the press box, while a member of the Nevada Media Services staff can provide you with the weekly wireless internet code. Please follow the instructions that come up in your internet browser to connect to the wireless internet. There are also several phone lines available throughout the press box on a first-come, first-serve basis. Media should plug their modem lines into the port on the back of the phone to use them for dial-up service and use a calling card or toll-free number to dial out.
Post-Game Interviews & Work Room
Nevada uses a common interview/work room located on the first floor of Cashell Fieldhouse, just south of the visitors' locker room. Following a 10-minute cooling off period, we ask that the visiting SID, head coach and 1-2 opposing players come to the interview room first, followed by Nevada head coach Chris Ault and requested players. All interviews should be conducted in the Cashell Media interview/work room.
There are 12 work stations and a TV platform for media who wish to work and file from the interview/work room. There are eight phone lines and eight ethernet connections available in that room as well as wireless internet. The majority of our media work in that room following the game, but you may also file from the press box if you prefer. We will bring postgame books, notes and quotes to both locations.
The announce booth for television is an open-air booth located on the concourse. Camera platforms are located at both 20-yard lines on the west side of the main press box on the concourse level. The production truck parks just to the north of the press box elevator and the satellite truck parks just to the south of the elevator. You will need to run cable to each of your camera locations.
Please contact Keith Hackett (775-682-6966) to arrange for your park and power and other facilities arrangements. Credentials and parking pass requests should be made to Chad Hartley, Assistant Director of Media Services (775-682-6982 or email@example.com).
Phone lines should be ordered as early as possible from AT&T at 775-688-7200. Please use Chad Hartley as the on-site contact.
