Mackay Stadium Game-Day Guide
Welcome to Mackay Stadium, home of the Wolf Pack. Opened in 1966 and located at the north end of the University of Nevada campus, Mackay Stadium seats 30,000 fans.
The Wolf Pack athletics department strives to make your Mackay Stadium experience a safe, positive and memorable one.
Spectators are not permitted on the playing field at any time.
Getting to the Game & Parking Information

In addition to donor parking, over 2,000 free parking spots are available to Wolf Pack fans, including Levels 4-5-6 of the West Stadium Parking Complex directly west of Mackay Stadium. The Brian Whalen Parking Garage also features free parking for fans on all levels on game days, and free parking is also available in the lots surrounding Peccole Park.
Parking for disabled patrons is available on the first floor of the West Stadium Parking Complex as well as within close proximity to the elevators on the remaining five floors of the garage. These locations are all very close to the disabled seating areas on the west concourse and south grandstands of Mackay Stadium.
All parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff.
The RTC's Sierra Spirit will provide free bus rides for fans to and from downtown Reno along North Virginia Street before and after football games. Service runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on game-day Saturdays. Click here for the Sierra Spirit map and more information.
Game-day tickets can be purchased at the Lawlor Events Center ticket office beginning at 10 a.m. on game days and at all ticket locations at Mackay Stadium two hours prior to kickoff. Children 3 and older must have a ticket to enter Mackay Stadium on game days. Ticket promotions and discounts are not available on the day of the game.

Will Call & Player Pass Gates
Will call tickets for the general public can be picked up starting three hours prior to kickoff at the outside windows at the Link Piazzo Ticket Office at Legacy Hall. A picture ID is required for pick-up of will call tickets.
The Wolf Pack and visiting team pass gates are located at Gate #10 (southeast corner of the stadium). Player guest tickets can be picked up starting two hours prior to kickoff.
Student tickets can be reserved online beginning on the Monday before the game at 9am. 3,500 students will be allowed free admission into the game. Student tickets must be reserved online, or can have their Wolf Card swiped at the student entrance (based on availability). All students must enter through Gate 9 which is located at the southeast corner of Mackay Stadium and will open 2 hours prior to kickoff. Lost, Stolen or Misplaced Tickets
All tickets should be treated like cash. The University of Nevada is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced tickets. Duplicates will not be issued for any tickets purchased on game day. Please contact the ticket office at (775) 348-PACK (7225), option #2, with any other questions regarding lost or destroyed tickets. A $2 replacement fee will be charged for every lost ticket.
All Mackay Stadium gates will open to fans two hours prior to kickoff. There is no re-entry to Mackay Stadium.
Tailgating is a great part of the football game-day experience, and fans are encouraged to tailgate prior to Wolf Pack home games. Tailgating is permitted on all surface parking lots around Mackay Stadium. Parking passes are required in the lots on the northwest and southwest side of Mackay Stadium. Parking and tailgating is free on the east side of Mackay Stadium around Peccole Park and the Wolf Pack Park intramural fields on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans may tailgate around their vehicles but may not take up more than one parking space for their tailgates. Tailgating is not permitted in the parking structures (West Stadium Parking Complex or Brian Whalen Garage) or in any parking lots south of the Brian Whalen Garage.
Reserved tailgating spots (that include a parking pass and four parking spaces for a vehicle and tailgate) are available for purchase for the season or on a game-by-game basis. For more information or to purchase a parking passing, contact Meredith Montoya at (775) 682-6905 or email@example.com.
Fans are encouraged to tailgate responsibly, and no kegs or party balls or drinking games of any kind are permitted in tailgating areas at any time. Fans are also asked to dispose of used charcoal properly. Hot coals are not to be put in trash cans, on grass areas or on the pavement in the parking/tailgating areas.
Tailgating will conclude at kickoff. If tailgaters do not go into the stadium, they will be politely asked to leave the tailgating area at that time. Fans are asked to do their part and clean up their tailgating area prior to going home after the football game.
Portable restroom facilities are located in all parking areas around Mackay Stadium.
Fan Services & Security
During home contests, Mackay Stadium features a combination of Wolf Pack Ambassadors, University of Nevada Police and event management staff present to ensure that all fans have an enjoyable and safe experience at Wolf Pack football games. The Wolf Pack Ambassadors is a group of friendly, committed volunteers who are more than willing to help you find your seat or anything else you may need.
If fans need assistance of any kind, please find a Wolf Pack Ambassador, police officer or any member of the events staff or athletics department staff. Fans can also text (775) 229-5564 to report any problems or inappropriate behavior in the stands.
If something is not right at one of our events, please let us know while you are there so we can solve the problem. We also welcome your feedback and can be reached by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We may not always be perfect, but we do want to make things right and enjoyable for our fans!
In order to promote a good sportsmanship and a positive and safe environment at Mackay Stadium, Nevada has put a set of "zero tolerance" rules for inappropriate fan behavior during Wolf Pack football games. Fans who behave inappropriately will face arrest or be directed to leave the university campus as well as face confiscation of their event tickets. Officers from the University of Nevada police department as well as additional security personnel will be stationed at every stadium gate to help keep fans safe and enhance the fan experience. Nevada has an alcohol response team of highly trained individuals on hand to deal with problems as well as additional volunteers to monitor the alcohol sales in the concessions areas.
Fans who appear visibly intoxicated will have their tickets confiscated, be denied access to Mackay Stadium and ejected from campus. Alcohol will not be allowed into the stadium and or to be consumed while standing in line to enter the stadium, and beer kegs will not be allowed in the tailgating areas. Fans who attempt to smuggle alcohol into the stadium or bring kegs to their tailgates will have the alcohol and tickets confiscated and will be denied entry to the stadium.
Nevada Football Game Day Alcohol Policy
- 1 beer per person per transaction.
- Standing in line while in possession of an alcoholic beverage is strictly prohibited.
- Alcohol sales conclude at the opening kickoff of the 2nd half.
- The University and Intercollegiate Athletics reserve the right to refuse service to any person at any time.
- The University and Intercollegiate Athletics reserves the right to terminate sales at any time.
Family Section & Pup Club
Nevada has established Section A as the alcohol-free Family Section at Mackay Stadium. The Family Section offers first-come, first-served seating, and fans must have a Family Section ticket OR be accompanied by a current Pup Club member identified by their Pup Club lanyard. Pup Club members are also allowed to sit with a ticketed adult in any general admission sections.

Disabled Seating & Services
Fans requiring special assistance are urged to make ticketing arrangements with the Wolf Pack Ticket Office well in advance of home football games. Reserved seating for wheelchair patrons is located on the West Concourse of Mackay Stadium. Reserved seating for patrons with other mobility impairment is located in Section G on the west side of Mackay Stadium. General admission seating for disabled patrons is located in the South End Zone. Disabled student seating is located in the Student Section (North End Zone and Section H). One companion seat is available for purchase for each disabled seat.
Accessible restroom facilities are located in all of the permanent restroom facilities in Mackay Stadium as well as on the West Concourse.
Parking for disabled patrons is available in the West Stadium Parking Complex on the first floor and within close proximity to the elevators on the remaining five floors of the garage. These locations are all very close to the disabled seating areas on the West Concourse and in the South End Zone of Mackay Stadium.
Sodexo has special concessions areas and dedicated wait staff to service disabled patrons at both the north and south ends of Mackay Stadium. Dedicated areas in the concession stands on the southeast and southwest corners are also available. Please look for the signage to identify these locations.
If disabled patrons need any assistance during the game, please contact a Wolf Pack Ambassador or any member of the events or athletics department staff.
Game Day Seatback Rental Protocol
- Seatback rental is $5 per game, cash only
- Leave the seatback where you sit, we'll pick it up
- There are two stations, one at the Main Gate, the other in front of the Visitor's section
- Game day rental will be available 2 hours prior to the game
- Both stations will stay open through the first quarter, the Main Gate will remain open through the first half
- Seatbacks measure 16 inches tall and 16 inches wide, with the cushion running 9 inches from the back of the bleacher to the front. All cushions are 2.5 inches thick
- Proceeds benefit programming at The Center for Student Cultural Diversity
In order to accommodate the desires of fans at Mackay Stadium while recognizing the need to maintain the safety and comfort of all guests, Nevada has formulated the following policies regarding items that can be brought into Mackay Stadium. All items are subject to search by stadium personnel. Fans who violate these policies may be asked to leave the stadium.
- Food items may be brought into the stadium in clear, one-quart plastic zip-lock bag. Only one bag per ticketed fan.
- One 20 oz. sealed clear plastic non-flavored water bottle will be permitted in the stadium. Only one bottle will be permitted per ticketed fan.
- No metal, aluminum or glass containers for food or beverages will be permitted. Thermos containers or those similar in style will not be permitted.
- Sealed, single-serving juice boxes and baby formula/baby food are permitted.
- No backpacks, large bags or hard coolers will be permitted in the stadium.
- Soft coolers will be permitted as long as they meet the size requirements (maximum of 10" X 12" X 12").
- Stadium cushions and blankets may be brought into the stadium as long as they do not exceed the maximum size of 16”t X 16”w X 9”d
- Under NCAA and University of Nevada policies, there is no photography or videography of the game allowed with the exception of accredited media personnel and team officials. Professional cameras, including those with detachable or interchangeable lenses, or SLR or digital SLR cameras are not allowed inside Mackay Stadium or at any University of Nevada athletics venue.
Artificial noisemakers of any kind are prohibited at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, air horns, inflatable thunder sticks, cow bells and whistles.
Smoking is prohibited in Mackay Stadium except in the designated smoking area behind the North End Zone.
Both portable and permanent restroom facilities are available for fans inside Mackay Stadium. If you have trouble locating a restroom facility in the stadium, please ask an event staff member for directions to the closest restroom. Portable restrooms are located throughout all donor general parking areas north of the stadium and in close proximity to the main entrance of Mackay Stadium. Restroom facilities for disabled patrons are located on the West Concourse and in the permanent restroom facilities on the southeast, southwest and east corners of the stadium.
First Aid & Medical Assistance
REMSA has two units stationed at Mackay Stadium during all home football games. REMSA units are located on the track by Sections H and M. If you need assistance, please contact a Wolf Pack Ambassador, police officer or any member of the events or athletics department staff and ask them to contact security to dispatch REMSA to the area where they are needed.
Sodexo is proud to be the Wolf Pack food and beverage provider at Mackay Stadium. Sodexo features concessions stands and hawkers throughout the stadium. A Kids Menu featuring smaller portions and lower prices is available at both the north and south ends of the stadium.
In addition to the offerings from Sodexo, food from Famous Dave's BBQ, Fatburger and Port of Subs is also available inside Mackay Stadium.
As a reminder to fans, beer is sold at many of the concessions stands at Mackay Stadium. The athletics department limits sales to one beer per person per purchase to individuals who are of legal drinking age. Sodexo reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated.
Lost and Found
Fans who have lost items should contact a member of the events staff. The events staff will call to see if the item has been logged in to the lost and found area and will bring any lost items to the fan. Unclaimed items will be available at Lawlor Events Center ticket office until the Wednesday following the game. After that time, all unclaimed items will be disposed of. If you have questions about lost items, please call Lawlor Events Center at (775) 784-4659.
Football Programs & Merchandise
Game programs featuring game-day rosters and depth charts are available for sale at program stands inside the stadium by volunteers from the university's Retired & Senior Volunteer Program. Programs cost $3 each, and part of the proceeds will benefit the RSVP.
Silver & Blue Outfitters is the official merchandiser of Wolf Pack Athletics and will have two locations set up inside the gates at Mackay Stadium. Silver & Blue Outfitters will also have a location set up in the tailgating area prior to games.
ATM machines are located inside the main entrance and inside the east gate (Gate #6) of Mackay Stadium.

STAR OF THE WEEK
Nov. 16 - Nov. 22
Senior Marqueze Coleman averaged 32.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals playing 37 minutes per game as the Wolf Pack split two road games. Coleman scored a career-high 34 points at Hawai`i with 32 coming in the second half then totaled 31 in the Pack's first victory at Pacific in 10 years.
