The Wolf Pack Million-Dollar Drive

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be recruited by a college basketball program? Have you ever been on the field at Mackay Stadium when the cannon fires after another Wolf Pack touchdown? Those experiences, or one of many others, can soon be your own personal memories with the new Million-Dollar Drive.

The University of Nevada athletics department is launching an end-of-the-season fundraising campaign with donations of $100 or more earning the chance to win one-of-a-lifetime Wolf Pack experiences. The goal of the campaign is to raise $1 million for the Pack Educational Fund by June 30, 2010. All Pack Educational Fund donations are used exclusively to offset the cost of educational needs of our student-athletes in the Wolf Pack athletic program. Scholarships are the most sought after financial award a university can offer its students. Since its inception, this Fund has raised nearly $25 million in scholarship and program support for over 3,500 student-athletes in 19 programs providing them the opportunity to attend the University of Nevada and compete for the Wolf Pack.

Anyone who makes a new or increased donation of at least $25 will receive a special 2009-2010 Wolf Pack athletics highlight DVD. Donations of $100 or more will get the highlight DVD, a T-shirt and an entry (one entry per $100 donated) into a drawing for a unique Wolf Pack experience with one of our head coaches. All donations must be directed to the Pack Educational Fund, which directly supports student-athletes at the University of Nevada and must be made by June 30, 2010.

The centerpiece of the experiences is the opportunity to go through an "official visit" - a recruiting weekend with Nevada men's basketball coach David Carter and his coaching staff. Each winner and a guest will be the prized recruit for the Wolf Pack hoops team during a weekend this fall. Your visit will mirror that of a prospective student-athlete, complete with one night's stay at the Silver Legacy, three meals with the coaching staff and campus and athletics facility tours. You'll also get to watch a Wolf Pack football game with the coaching staff. There will be two winners for this experience, both for the Wolf Pack's game against Colorado State (Sept. 11, 2010).

Many other thrilling experiences are also available:

Football:  Two sideline passes for one quarter at the game on October 30, 2010 (Utah State).  You and your guest will enjoy the rest of the game in best seats in the house, Cary Groth's Skybox.  After the game, you and your guest will attend the post-game press conference.

Women's Basketball:  Attend practice as a guest of women's basketball staff and you will have a practice plan so you can understand all that is being worked on.  You will be asked to come up with an in-bounds play, which will be put in by the staff.  The following week, you will get a personalized scouting meeting with the coaches to review the game plan, join the team for shoot-around, pre-game meal, and will be on the bench for the game.  At the game, the in-bounds play will be run and it will be named after you for the rest of the year.

Baseball: Ten (10) tickets to the game of your choice during the 2010-2011 season.  One person will get to throw out the first pitch and your party will receive $50 in concession coupons.

Softball:  Batting practice with the team and two (2) 1-hour hitting lessons with the coaching staff.

Volleyball:  Attend a pre-game team meal with the Nevada volleyball team.

Soccer:   Experience game day with the women's soccer program.  You will attend the pre-game meal with head coach Missy Price and be the honorary coach for the match (sideline pass, listen to pre-game talk with team, join the team for halftime).  After the match, you will be able to visit with players.

Rifle:  Three (3) 1-hour lessons with a rifle/pistol or both with head coach Fred Harvey.

Golf:  Two (2) 1-hour golf lessons for you and a guest with coaches Jacob Wilner and Chad Spencer.  After your lessons, you and your guest will also play a round of golf with Coach Wilner and Coach Spencer.

Swimming & Diving:  Your choice of: Three (3) 1-hour one-on-one adult swim lessons or a personalized swim workout plan.

The drawings will be held during a live video-streamed event on in July and winners of the top prizes will be notified via a phone call from the head coach. Please note that due to NCAA rules, the winner or participant of each experience must not be of recruiting age (14-18) or in high school.

Each experience will have a separate drawing so entrants will have the opportunity to select which experience they would like to have a chance for. Each $100 donated earns a ticket for the drawing of your choice. After your donation is made, a University of Nevada athletics employee will contact you so that you can select your drawing(s). If no selection is made, your ticket will be included in drawings at the discretion of the University of Nevada athletics department.
