Blue Tie Ball ticket deadline is Wednesday; auction is live

RENO, Nev. – The initial list of auction items available at this week’s Blue Tie Ball was unveiled today and includes items such as a Colin Kaepernick-signed 49ers jersey and an original chrome “Battle Born” football helmet, among dozens of other items.

Tickets are still available for this week's Blue Tie Ball, the fifth-annual edition of the University of Nevada Scholarship Gala benefiting Wolf Pack student-athletes, with the deadline to RSVP and purchase tickets is Wednesday at noon. Tickets are $200 each or $2,000 for a premium table of 10. A minimum of $100 per ticket is considered a tax-deductible gift in support of Nevada Athletics. The Blue Tie Ball, which has become the region’s can’t-miss event of the year, is Friday (March 28) at 6 p.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. This year’s event promises to be the best yet as we travel under the big top for a circus-themed evening of food and fun. Proceeds from the event help fund scholarships for Wolf Pack student-athletes.

Nevada student-athletes dressed in formal attire will serve as the hosts for the elegant evening. Now in its fifth year, the event continues to grow, both in attendance and impact on Nevada student-athletes. This auction extravaganza features a rare glimpse into the other side of Nevada student-athletes through an explosion of music, dance and entertainment.

For the weekend, Jones threw 14.0 innings of work, compiled a 0.50 ERA and racked up 19 strikeouts, while not issuing a single walk. She earned two wins against Utah State as Nevada swept the Aggies.
