RENO, Nev. - Incoming University of Nevada Director of Athletics Doug Knuth was welcomed to the Wolf Pack family with an introductory press conference Thursday at Legacy Hall.

His formal title will be Special Assistant to the President and Director of Athletics, and he will officially start his duties on April 22.

Knuth, his wife, Marilyn, and his two children, Gabby (4) and Lance (2), were in attendance at the press conference along with University President Marc Johnson, Wolf Pack coaches and staff and numerous community members.

Knuth said his first priority will be getting out in the community, listening to fans, donors, business owners, student-athletes, coaches, staff and university faculty and beginning to build relationships and partnerships.

"There is a lot of listening and learning to do," he said.

While Knuth doesn't officially start until later in April, he has already started the process of getting to know the Wolf Pack and the community.
