Matt Eck Bio
In June of 2008, Matt Eck was named the Director of Strength and Conditioning and in July of 2009 was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning. In his new role, he is responsible for the entire development and direction of the Wolf Pack Strength and Conditioning Program and the 17 sports that the University of Nevada sponsors. More specifically, he oversees all facets of strength and conditioning and player development for Football and Track and Field Throws events.
Upon his appointment at Nevada, Eck went to work to further sustain and improve an already successful program. With the goals of assisting every student-athlete in increasing their athletic performance while having a positive collegiate experience, Eck shares the mission of the Athletic Department in moving each sport towards winning championships and sustaining championship caliber programs.
Eck came to Nevada in 2001 from Kansas State University where he worked for former Head Strength Coach Rod Cole after he finished his playing career at KSU. He assisted with several sports while at Kansas State, including Football, Baseball, Volleyball, and Track and Field.
Eck holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as United States Weightlifting. Eck is married to the former Jennifer Hermanson of Sparks, NV and now reside in Sparks with their two sons, Carter and Mason.

2016-17 Student Athlete of the Week
D.J. Fenner had a career week with Nevada basketball. Fenner scored 37 points against UNLV, a career high. He also netted 21 points at San Diego State, leading both teams in scoring in back-to-back games. He averaged 29 points and 6.5 rebounds per game against UNLV and SDSU.
