Burke placed second with a PR time of 15:29 behind first-place finisher Roxanne Sellick (15:18) of Fresno State. Burke's time places her in a tie with Nicole McRae for fifth all-time in Nevada's 4K record book and was one minute and 10 seconds faster than her previous 4K PR.
Natalia Jarawka was one of five Nevada student-athletes to post a top-20 finish. Jarawka finished 11th with a time of 16:15 while freshman Katarina Ratkowiak finished 12th with a time of 16:20.
Freshman Samantha Diaz placed 17th overall with a time of 16:31 followed by Gloria Sosa who took 20th (16:44). Senior Mandy Russ finished four seconds behind Sosa, coming in with a time of 16:48 to take 21st place.
Christy Works took 24th (17:15), freshman Nicole Painter finished 25th (17:17), newcomer Tara Dines finished 29th (17:42) while Kalyn Kenney rounded out the finishers for Nevada, placing 30th with a time of 17:46.
Nevada's next competition will be on Saturday, September 26 at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
