MACKAY STADIUM GAMEDAY GUIDE 2009
Welcome to Mackay Stadium, home of the Wolf Pack. Opened in 1966 and located at the north end of the University of Nevada campus, Mackay Stadium seats 29,993 fans. The Wolf Pack athletics department strives to make your Mackay Stadium experience a positive and memorable one.
If something is not right at one of our events, find an usher, guest services representative or member of the events staff while you are there so that we can make it right. We also welcome your feedback and can be reached by emailing us at fanrelations@unr.edu. We may not always be perfect, but we do want to make things right and enjoyable for our fans!
FAN BEHAVIOR
In order to promote a positive and safe environment at Mackay Stadium, Nevada has put a set of "zero tolerance" rules for inappropriate fan behavior during Wolf Pack football games. Fans who behave inappropriately will face arrest or be directed to leave the university campus as well as face confiscation of their event tickets. Officers from the University of Nevada Police Department and the Washoe County Sheriffs’ Office, as well as additional security personnel will be stationed at every stadium gate to help keep fans safe and enhance the fan experience. Nevada has an alcohol response team of highly trained individuals on hand to deal with problems as well as additional volunteers to monitor the alcohol sales in the concessions areas.
Fans who appear visibly intoxicated will be denied access to Mackay Stadium and ejected from campus. Alcohol will not be allowed into the stadium or consumed while standing in line, and beer kegs will not be allowed in the tailgating areas. Fans who attempt to smuggle any amount of alcohol into the stadium or bring kegs to their tailgates will have their alcohol confiscated and will be denied entry to the stadium. Smoking will not be allowed in Mackay Stadium this year except in a designated smoking area behind the bleachers in the north endzone.
In addition to speaking to any usher, security member or events staff member, fans can text (775) 229-5564 to report any problems or inappropriate behavior in the stands. The phone number will also be displayed periodically on Nevada’s videoboard during games.
