Reno, Nev. - The University of Nevada head baseball coach Gary Powers has inked four high school seniors to national letters of intent to play for the Wolf Pack in 2011.  The four include shortstop Jake Schu, pitcher Andrew Millner, infielder Loren Gardner-Young and outfielder Curtis Frisbie who are in their senior year.

"This is a great start to our 2010 recruiting class," said Powers.  "Each of these student athletes is going to be able to contribute to our team immediately and we are very excited about this group!"

Schu earned all-league honors playing shortstop for Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, Calif.  A three-year starter he led the league in stolen bases as a junior.  He was a Rawlings All-Star and two-year member of the Rockies scout team where he also earned all-star honors.

A 6'0, 205-pound right handed pitcher Millner is in his senior year at Foothills High School in Palo Cedro, Calif.  As a junior he went 5-3 with 71 strikeouts and a 1.22 ERA in 69 innings pitched.  He was selected as the NCIS Pitcher of the Year and earned All-Eastern Athletic League honors.

An infielder Gardner-Young earned Seamount League All-Conference honors each of the last three seasons playing for Mt. Rainier High School in Seattle, Wash.  He hit .350 with 16 home runs to lead the Baden Baseball Club to the West Coast Summer Series championship.  A member of the Mariners scout team he played in the prestigious Mariner Cup at Safeco Field.

Frisbie is a right-handed hitting outfielder that played his prep baseball at Central Valley High School in Redding, Calif.   He earned first-team Northern Athletic Conference, all-section and all-state honors following his junior season.  His junior year he hit .465 with 12 home runs and led the state of California with 59 RBI.
