RENO, Nev. -  Jordan Burris of Bakersfield, Calif., has signed a national letter of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2010-11, first-year head coach David Carter announced Wednesday.

A 6-6, 205-pound wing, Burris comes to Nevada from Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, Calif. He finished second in Kern County in scoring last year with 23.0 points per game. He also led his team with 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.1 steals per contest while shooting 51 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point land. Burris earned first-team All-Bakersfield Area and All-Southwest Yosemite League honors last season.

"Jordan is a very good athlete with the ability to finish above the rim," Carter said. "He also is an excellent three-point shooter. We're very excited to have him as part of our Wolf Pack family."
